UAE accelerates electric vehicle ambitions with inaugural Evolve Future Mobility Show

The first-ever Evolve Future Mobility Show (EFMS 2025), which took place from October 15 to 18 at Expo Centre Sharjah, really reinforced the UAE’s bold ambitions regarding sustainable mobility and electric vehicles (EVs). Organized by Expo Centre Sharjah—yeah, in partnership with MIE Events—and supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the event pulled together more than 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries. There was a good mix of industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators—pretty impressive, honestly. Over 5,000 visitors attended, and EFMS 2025 has already claimed its spot as the Middle East’s go-to platform dedicated solely to electric and new energy vehicles.

Throughout the summit’s sessions and panels, global EV experts shared valuable insights into what the future holds for sustainable mobility. The discussions highlighted the importance of adopting best practices from top EV charging operators and offered a clear roadmap for expanding e-mobility across the region. Industry insiders emphasized how the UAE’s strong, investor-friendly economy makes it a really promising hub for capital and long-term growth in the EV sector. Experts also pointed out that forming solid public-private partnerships is crucial for speeding up large-scale transportation initiatives that are environmentally friendly.

Abdulaziz Shattaf, the Commercial Director of Expo Centre Sharjah, described the themes of the event as reflecting a real understanding of how the industry is evolving. He pointed out that both the commercial maturity of electric mobility and its rising investment appeal are becoming more apparent. Regarding the strategic vision behind EFMS, Shattaf said, “The electric mobility sector has moved past its initial stages and now shows serious signs of maturity and attractiveness to investors… balancing current business realities with future goals for sustainable growth and innovation.”

A particularly interesting discussion was “The Future of Mobility in the UAE,” featuring Adam Ridgway, the CEO of One Moto. Ridgway looked into how automakers are pushing the shift toward zero-emission solutions and talked about the changes happening in the UAE’s transport sector right now. Another standout was a keynote speech by Barbara Lebar, MEA Representative at Manta Aircraft, focusing on “The Advanced Air Mobility Revolution.” Lebar highlighted the potential of electric flying vehicles to transform urban transport, imagining a future where air mobility works hand-in-hand with traditional road networks.

There was also a fascinating session about sustainability going beyond just vehicle operation—specifically, the circular economy within the EV industry. Rizul Rai, the Founder and CEO of Sircle Clean Energy Technologies LLC, underscored the importance of battery manufacturing and recycling. His panel emphasized how recycling batteries isn’t just good for the environment but can also unlock economic opportunities and strengthen supply chains—especially as the global demand for EV batteries continues to grow.

The exhibition showcased some cutting-edge tech, including the regional debut of the A2RL Autonomous Formula 1 car—a superfast, AI-driven self-driving race car capable of exceeding 340 km/h. This demonstration really demonstrated the event’s commitment to highlighting innovations that push the limits of electric and autonomous mobility.

EFMS 2025 also resonated with the broader UAE government’s strategic plans aimed at promoting EV adoption and hitting Net Zero targets. It showcased a comprehensive transition toward clean energy, with advances in electric and hybrid vehicles, EV charging infrastructure, and smart mobility solutions. Bringing together government officials, industry experts, and private sector players, EFMS provided a valuable platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Of course, the event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. This support has really helped position Sharjah as a growing center for sustainable transport dialogue and innovative development in the Middle East.
