Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 highlights UAE’s shift towards system-level climate solutions and key international collaborations

On Tuesday, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the opening of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. This event underlined the UAE’s commitment to making the capital a true hub for practical climate solutions and for fostering systems-level cooperation across sectors.

Themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” the event pulled together top UAE officials, global ministers, industry leaders, and climate experts. Among the distinguished attendees were His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; and other senior members of the ruling family and federal government, according to statements from the Abu Dhabi Media Office and the ADSW organizers.

In his speech to the gathering, His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology as well as Chairman of Masdar, delivered the keynote address. According to the organizers, the goal is to fast-track solutions that can create ripple effects across different sectors, boosting overall impact.

Both the event organizers and the venue providers emphasized the sustainability credentials of ADSW. The ADNEC Group pointed out that the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre continues to operate as the region’s first large-scale event venue run entirely on clean energy. This detail wasn’t thrown in casually but was highlighted as part of the UAE’s broader initiative to demonstrate reduced emissions, aligning with the country’s net-zero commitments in terms of logistics and hosting.
