Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will host the emirate’s first Dubai electric vehicle exhibition and conference from 10 to 12 November, with more than 300 participants and 10,000 visitors expected at the trade centre.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on 4 October that it will organise the inaugural Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference, also called EV World 2026. The Dubai electric vehicle exhibition runs from 10 to 12 November at Dubai World Trade Centre. It takes place under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The theme is “Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future”. The RTA expects more than 300 local and international companies, authorities and organisations to take part. Organisers also expect more than 10,000 industry specialists and visitors, 70 speakers and more than 30 business partners.
What the exhibition will cover
The programme covers electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, battery management, charging infrastructure, smart systems, autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence applications for mobility. Manufacturers, investors, technology developers and policymakers are due to attend.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of the RTA, said EV World 2026 will serve as an international platform for exchanging expertise, forging partnerships and showcasing the latest innovations. He added that “the global public transport sector is undergoing a rapid transition towards electric and new energy vehicles”.
The RTA also signed a cooperation agreement with China EV100 to widen participation by Chinese companies and deepen partnerships in electric vehicle technology and research.
Fleet targets behind the event
The RTA says hybrid vehicles make up 72% of Dubai’s taxi and limousine fleet, and electric vehicles make up 19%, ahead of its 2026 targets. It plans to convert the whole taxi and limousine fleet to electric and hydrogen vehicles by 2040.
The authority has also adopted the Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050 strategy, which targets net-zero emissions from public transport by mid-century. Initiatives under the plan include more electric buses, fast-charging infrastructure, and electric and hydrogen-powered vessels on Dubai’s waterways.
Dubai has been expanding its EV charging network and has put charging points in mosque car parks. For suppliers of vehicles, batteries and charging hardware, the three-day Dubai electric vehicle exhibition puts them in front of the authority behind Dubai’s public transport fleet targets.
